Celebrating Bradford's Heritage, Women and Sustainable Fashion

For Yorkshire Women’s Forum, Threads Together is much more than a fashion show. It is a celebration of creativity, community and the rich textile heritage that has shaped Bradford for generations.

Taking place at Valley Parade on Thursday 9th July, Threads Together marks the beginning of an exciting new partnership between Yorkshire Women’s Forum and Bradford City FC Community Foundation, bringing together two organisations with a shared commitment to community wellbeing, inclusion and sustainability.

Over the years, Yorkshire Women’s Forum has seen first-hand how creativity can transform lives. Through sewing, crafting and sustainable fashion activities, women have found new friendships, improved confidence, developed skills and discovered a renewed sense of purpose. Threads Together brings all of these elements together in one powerful event. Fashion is often seen as something glamorous and aspirational, but it also tells a deeper story. Every garment carries a history, from the people who made it to the resources used to create it. Through Threads Together, attendees will be encouraged to think differently about fashion, sustainability and the importance of giving clothing a second life.

The evening will showcase upcycled, repurposed and ethically inspired designs, demonstrating how creativity can transform discarded materials into something beautiful while celebrating Bradford’s identity as a city built on textiles, craftsmanship and cultural diversity. Most importantly, the event shines a light on the incredible women within our communities. Many of the outfits featured have been created, adapted or inspired by local women who are passionate about sustainability and creativity, with their stories woven throughout the show.

Every ticket purchased will support Yorkshire Women’s Forum’s Period Poverty Project, helping provide essential products and support to women and girls across the community. By attending, guests are not only enjoying an inspiring evening but directly contributing to improving the lives of women and girls across Bradford.
Threads Together will be delivered in partnership with Yorkshire Women’s Forum, Bradford City FC Community Foundation, Stachiw Bashir Solicitors and Another Way Women’s Foundation.
